PlayMetrics Focuses Portfolio With Latest Divestitures, Reinforcing Investment in Core Platform

PlayMetrics completes its latest round of divestitures, exiting non-core businesses to sharpen focus on its youth sports operations platform.

RALEIGH, NC (August 18, 2026) — PlayMetrics, a leading provider of operations management software for youth sports organizations, today announced it has completed a series of divestitures of non-core assets. The moves reflect the strategy PlayMetrics set when it merged with Stack Sports in 2025: deliver one connected youth sports operations management platform for clubs, leagues, tournaments, and governing bodies.

"When we brought PlayMetrics and Stack Sports together, we committed to doing a deep review of every product and making decisions based on where the most value is for customers,” said Mike Doernberg, CEO of PlayMetrics. "These moves are us following through on that commitment and staying disciplined about where we focus as we give youth sports operators the platform they deserve."

The transactions include the sale of Stack Athlete by CaptainU, RaceWire, GetMeRegistered, and TeamInn; a network of youth sports camps across a range of sports; and several regional road race timing businesses. These divestitures follow PlayMetrics' previously announced sales of Student Sports and Steva. Boxwood Partners served as financial advisor for the sale of Student Sports, and the camp and road-race assets. Financial terms were not disclosed.

With thousands of clubs, leagues, tournaments, and governing bodies already running their operations on PlayMetrics, and the recent addition of SportsEngine’s software business, the company continues to accelerate innovation and reinforce its position as the definitive platform for youth sports operations management.

"Our priority hasn't changed since day one: deliver the best software, provide an exceptional customer service experience, and grow the business," said Doernberg. "We know moves like these only make sense if they create something meaningfully better for our customers. Every decision we make, whether it's a divestiture, an acquisition, or a new investment, comes back to that."
